BIRTHING PREPARATION AND BIRTHING

Winton performs an average of 270 labour induction/augmentations annually. His clientele range from those seeing private obstetricians, to birthing centre women, to home births. 

The ideal time to initiate your birth preparation is at 37 weeks, however if you have specific medical time schedules or otherwise, then allowing 3 weeks prior to your desired birthing time is optimal.

Successful birthing is a tenuous process.  Often you don’t know what is going to happen until it is unfolding in front of your eyes. Winton’s experience does however allow him to help a mother prepare for and work through a likely birthing outcome, if given a clear understanding of the mother’s physiological and anatomical state combined with that of her mental/emotional position.

All mammals require Safety and Privacy to birth successfully.  Safety and Privacy is not all that is required, but without it the body produces adrenalin - the fight or flight hormone. Adrenalin switches the oxytocin receptors in your uterus off and shunts blood away from the uterine muscle, to allow for a physical response to the stressor.

Above and beyond all aspects in not only pregnancy, but life, is Safety.  “Success should not be measured by the end result, it should be measured in terms of whether all the objectives are achieved.”  Sometimes things happen that are out of our control, and ultimately change the end result.  That is the nature of life – if all objectives have been attained up until this point, then this altered result will not resonate as a failure.
